Transition
Transition is a service that provides support to a child in planning for life after graduation from high school. Services begin the year a child eligible for special education turns 14 years of age or older.
Transition targets three specific areas of need:
Post-Secondary Education and Training
Students identify and develop the skills, education, or training they will need in order to meet their individual career goals.
Employment
Students identify career interests, pathways, and goals and develop the prerequisite skills needed to be successful in their field of interest.
Independent Living
Students learn key skills needed to live independently and be active members of their community.
