Thank You for all of your support during this very stressful and uneasy time. The district's students, faculty, staff, and Board of Education are blessed to have such a caring and supportive community. Through continued strength, cooperation, and patience, we will all get through this together. I want to take this time to make you aware of the following:
At the Board of Education meeting held last evening, the Susquehanna Community School District Board of Education voted to appoint Mr. Peter Supko to the position of Acting Superintendent of Schools for the 2020/2021 school year, effective July 1, 2020. The Board of Education also appointed Mrs. Julie Gallo to the position of Acting Elementary Principal for the 2020/2021 school year, in addition to her duties as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, effective July 1, 2020.
The district administration is being updated daily by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. While we do not have any definitive answers about when school will resume, if there will be an online cyber solution for continuing the daily education of our students, we are hopeful that those answers will be forthcoming soon.
The decision to close the external recreational facilities (running track, basketball courts, etc.) of the school campus was not a local decision. It is a requirement that accompanies the decision to close all public schools by Governor Wolf.
The district's Food Service Department is now providing meals to over 100 students daily. If you would like to participate, please contact the Food Service Department at (570) 853-4921 Ext. 1314 or at email@example.com.
